What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Chazown Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word, without error, and the final authority for faith and life.
Scriptures: 2 Tim. 3:16-17; Ps. 119:105

God

We believe in one eternal God, revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Scriptures:
 Deut. 6:4; Mt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14

Jesus  Christ

We believe Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose again, ascended to heaven, and will return as King.
Scriptures: Mt. 1:23; Jn. 1:1-5; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts, guides, and empowers believers. He gives spiritual gifts and produces spiritual fruit. We also believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, empowering believers for bold witness and ministry.
Scriptures: Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Jn. 14:16-17; Gal. 5:22-23

Humanity and Sin

We believe all people are created in God’s image but are separated from Him by sin.  We need salvation through Jesus Christ.
Scriptures: Gen. 1:27; Rom. 3:23; Is. 53:6

Salvation

We believe salvation is God’s free gift, received by grace through faith in Jesus.  Repentance brings forgiveness, peace, and new life.
Scriptures: Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 10:9-10; 2 Cor. 5:17

Water Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

We believe baptism is an outward sign of new life in Christ, and the Lord’s Supper is a  remembrance of His sacrifice until He returns.
Scriptures: Mt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; 1 Cor. 11:23-26

Divine Healing

We believe Jesus is our Healer, and He continues to heal today in response to prayer  and faith. Healing flows from His work on the cross, bringing wholeness to body, mind,  and spirit as God wills.
Scriptures: Is. 53:5; Mt. 8:16-17; Mk. 16:17-18; James 5:14-16

Stewardship

We believe God calls us to honor Him with our time, talents, and resources. Through  faithful tithes, generous offerings, and wise stewardship, we worship Him, trust His  provision, and advance the gospel with joy.
Scriptures: Mal. 3:10; 2 Cor. 9:6-7; Prov. 3:9-10; Acts 20:35

Marriage and Family

We believe marriage is the covenant union of one man and one woman, reflecting  Christ and the Church. Sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage. Families are called to  honor God.
Scriptures: Gen. 2:24; Mt. 19:4-6; Eph. 5:31-33; Heb. 13:4

Gender and God’s Design

We believe God created humanity in His image as male and female, an unchanging and  good design. Gender is His gift and purpose, and we lovingly uphold His design while  inviting all people to embrace the goodness of who God made them to be.
Scriptures: Gen. 1:26–27; Ps. 139:13–16; Mt. 19:4–6; Rom. 1:24–27

The Church and Mission

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to worship, grow, serve, and share the gospel with the world.
Scriptures: Acts 2:42-47; Mt. 28:18-20; Mk. 16:15

The Second Coming and Eternity

We believe Jesus will return personally and imminently. All people will face judgment and spend eternity either with God in heaven or separated from Him in hell.
Scriptures: 1 Thess. 4:16-17; Rev. 20:11-15; Jn. 14:2-3
